About the role:
As a Network & Security Specialist, you will be involved in designing, building, implementing, and supporting network, IP Telephony, security, and wireless solutions, predominantly focused on Cisco platforms. You'll provide high-level technical support, troubleshoot network issues, and work closely with external vendors to ensure the best outcomes for the company. This role also involves 30% travel within Australia and possible out-of-hours or weekend work as required.

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Manage and support the network including LAN, WAN, Cloud, Wireless and security appliances
  • Administration of the companies IP Telephony system (Cisco CallManager, IPFX)
  • Administration of the Switches, Routers, Firewalls & Wireless equipment
  • Ensure procedures in a regulatory and compliance environment are being followed
  • Monitoring network performance and reporting to ensure system availability and business continuity
  • Troubleshooting network related issues providing both remote and onsite support
  • Dealing directly with external vendors to ensure the best outcome for the company
  • Carry out backups and preventative maintenance

About you:
To be the successful candidate, you will have:

  • Working knowledge and troubleshooting of Cisco Routers, Switches & Firewalls
  • Working knowledge and troubleshooting of Cisco Call Manager
  • Knowledge of routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP and Internet TCP/IP Services (DNS & DHCP)
  • Experience with WAN\LAN technologies and related Network protocols
  • Experience with Cisco Switches, Cisco Routers, Cisco Firewall and WIFI access point
  • Knowledge of network monitoring tools (i.e. SolarWinds)
  • A working knowledge of Disaster Recovery procedures
  • Problem solving and creative thinking
  • Delivering results and meeting customer expectations
  • Creating documentation and procedures
  • Desirable technical qualifications including Cisco Certifications - CCNA, CCNP etc.
