Digital Distribution Australia (DDA), as part of the WIN Group, is a 'carriers' carrier' delivering managed bandwidth services for video, data and voice.  We are stimulating competition to regional areas having built a broadband network providing carriers, ISPs and governments with connectivity for mission critical services.

An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced Network Engineer with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience to join our team, based at Lane Cove West. 

Primary Objectives

The primary objectives of the Network Engineer role are conducting network implementation and commissioning of telco services in IP/MPLS network, SDH transmission network, and providing technical support within engineering and operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct IP/MPLS network and SDH transmission network implementation covering design, installation, testing and service handover.
  • Conduct IP/MPLS network and SDH transmission network system integration, service performance management and capacity management.
  • Provide higher technical support to NOC and other operations teams.
  • Execute configuration changes and software issues fixes.
  • Conduct telco NMS development and support, including use of PhP script and SQL.
  • Perform the handover acceptance for new implementation.
  • Proactively perform corrective maintenance for IP/MPLS, SDH and microwave radio systems.
  • Produce periodic reports about the network activities, network performance and capacity.
  • Execute the plans of preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Interstate travel may be required.

Selection Criteria
Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelors' degree in Engineering Telecommunications or equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) years local experience in Telco IP/MPLS Network as an engineer.
  • Experience with MPLS technology including L2/L3 VPN and traffic engineering.
  • Experience in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches.
  • Experience with transmission technology including SDH, Carrier Ethernet and EoSDH.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Desire to learn new skills and technologies.
  • Must hold a valid Australian Driver's License.
